Chewing Bones
Everybody knows not to feed chicken bones to their dog – it’s true, chicken bones easily splinter and these bone splinters when swallowed can punch a hole in the esophagus or stomach wall. But, some dog owners think it is ok to give a nice beef bone to their dog.

Dogs love that rib bone or marrow bone but these bones are very hard on the dog’s teeth. Enough grinding will weaken these teeth and before long a stab of tooth will splinter off. You’re right, this will hurt and it means a trip to the vet plus most times removal of the broken tooth is necessary.
