Pet Tips
Hot Weather
You have a valid concern for your dogs and cats during this hot weather.
Let's look at some pet safety tips for hot weather.
First Tip
Exercise your pet in the cooler morning and evening times of the day. Also, keep your pet off the hot summertime pavement.
Second Tip
If possible, keep your pet inside during the heat of the day. For the outside pets, provide good shade and lots of water.
Third Tip
If you travel with your pet, it is a good rule to carry a gallon of water just for their use and never leave a pet alone for any amount of time in a parked car.
Fourth Tip
Older, overweight and pets with heart problems can develop overheating quickly. Pug nosed dogs like Bulldogs, Lhasa Apso, and Pekingese are also part of this heat sensitive group.
Please, don’t let these dog days of summer hurt your or your pet.
