Airline Travel
Over ½ of pet owners travel or vacation with their pets. Here are some pet airline travel tips: First, not all airlines carry pets and there is a limit to the number of pets on each flight.
Small Pets:
1. Allowed in passenger area.
2. Required to have carrier that fits under the seat in front of you.
Good news: If 2 pets can fit comfortably in one carrier, they can travel together.
Larger Pets:
1. Must travel in cargo area.
2. A sturdy pet carrier large enough for animal to stand and turn around in is required.
3. Absorbent paper is recommended for peace of mind: Airlines pay close attention to care.
"Something to Know" By Federal Law, Each pet:
1. Must be current on rabies protection.
2. Have current health certificate from a veterinarian issued no later that 10 days before travel.
3. Another certificate may be necessary for the return trip.
It's easier than you think - just let your air carrier help you from the start.
