Flatulence

Flatulence or gas is usually caused by improperly digested food.  First solution, no cheese or milk – pets are lactose intolerant.  Next, decrease the carbohydrates in the diet.  Carbohydrates are full of sugar and starch that releases gas during digestion.  If your pet is still breezy, slowly change to a diet with less wheat, corn or soy as the main ingredient.  If your pet gulps down his food quickly or eats too much at one time, these could also lead to flatulence.  Another trick is more exercise – they still have to release the gas but the great outdoors can handle it better than indoors.  There are also anti-gas medications at the pet store or through your vet.
