Car Sickness
There is nothing worse than dealing with a car sick dog. The most common sense move is not to feed your dog 3 to 4 hours before a car ride. Giving water is usually not a problem. When driving, avoid fast starts and winding hills. Something as simple as barely opening a car window goes a long way to stop car sickness. If you think your dog gets nauseated from seeing motion, place him in a carrier or on the floor board. Some dogs do a great job of getting themselves anxious about being in a car. Start with this hound by sitting in the car for short periods. The next step is to start the car without going anywhere. Take each step slowly. The best news is that young dogs routinely outgrow car sickness.
