Pet Tips

Dogs and Children

If you have a younger child and are getting a dog, first, pick a dog five months of age or older – this gets past the puppy chewing due to teething.  Next, pick a dog that will grow to be 15 pounds or larger.  This weight helps prevent the young child from accidentally hurting the dog.  No matter what pet you choose, a child should be supervised around any animal.
