She has a special interest in geriatric medicine and hospice care for pets. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is getting to know so many different people and sharing a part in the special bond they have with their pets.  She grew up in Henderson, a small town in east Texas but has called Austin home for the past eight years. Dr. D has been married to her husband Justin for 8 years.  They have a 2 year old daughter named June and a newborn daughter named Jill. She is especially fond of the flat faced dogs and you will frequently find her fostering a Boston Terrier or two for a local rescue.  She likes spending time outside with her family on the beach and fishing the Texas coast. She also loves cooking, flea markets, Mexican food, and cheering on the Aggies!

During these years, she developed a special interest for the fields of Surgery and Emergency and Critical Care.
